International week at IGR-IAE

International week at IGR-IAE

With about 15 events and a dozen lecturers, the International Seminar is the major multicultural event for our 130 Master 1 and 80 MBA students at IGR-IAE Rennes.

The Seminar was organized by Dr. Karine PICOT-COUPEY and Dr. Caroline TAHAR. It took place from January 21 to 25, 2019 on “Cultural shock and intercultural skills” for the Master 1 and “Doing Business in North America” for the MBA.

This year’s innovation: professors from North America (Dr. Amy Jones, University of Western Alabama, Dr. Frances Gunn, Ryerson University, Pr. Michel Maignan, Concordia College, Benoit Chalifoux, ESG – UQAM) gave our students the opportunity to discover classes just as they are taught to Canadian or American students, in order to better comprehend the demands of their future international mobility projects.

Speakers (Nicolas Plantis from Brittany International Trade, Audrey Sarrazin from the International Trade Center in Geneva, Nicolas Beaty from the Brittany Trade Center) made our students think on the methods and tools available for a successful international development. Susanna Bradsley, a consultant, facilitated a seminar aiming at helping our students learn how to deal with culture shock.

At the end of the week, students were evaluated via an online test (on the Moodle platform) to assess the knowledge acquired during the international week.

Many thanks to all the lecturers, who accompanied our students throughout the week and contributed to our school’s quality and cultural richness.
