The Université de Rennes 1 once again ranks among the top institutions in the world in the” Shanghai ranking of World Universities”, which features the 1,000 most qualified institutions on the planet.
The university has been included in this annual ranking since 2004.
The University of Rennes 1 is listed in 16 of these disciplines, 9 of which are positioned in the prestigious top 300 (Best Ranked Subjects). In the disciplinary rankings, Rennes 1 even ranks 76th in the field of mathematics. Other subjects, such as medical technology, earth sciences or physics and chemistry, rank between 100th and 300th.
The Shanghai ranking, conducted annually since 2003 by the Chinese Jiao-Tong University, records the scientific publications and awards received by the researchers of each university to compile its list.
