Franco-German Doctoral Seminar

IGR-IAE Rennes has been co-organizing the Franco-German doctoral seminar with Christian-Albrechts Universität Zu Kiel (Kiel University) since 2005.It was initiated by the current President of the University of Rennes 1, David Alis (then Professor at IGR-IAE Rennes), Pr. Gérard Cliquet and Pr. Joachim Wolf (who has since become Doctor Honoris Causa of the University of Rennes 1). It is hosted every two years, alternating between Kiel and Rennes; we are reinstating this event put on pause by the pandemic since 2018.

The 2022 edition of this seminar doctoral is held on September 28 and 29. On the first day of the seminar, 3 PhD students from Kiel and 5 from Rennes will present their work and benefit from the advice of professors from Kiel and Rennes on their project. On the following day they will attend a publishing workshop.

This year we will welcome Professor Joachim Wolf, Chair in Organization Theory and Design, Editor-in-Chief of Management International Review  and Professor Achim Walters, who both hold a Chair. On the IGR-IAE Rennes side, Patrick Valeau, Director of Research, Gérard Cliquet – Professor Emeritus – and Prof. Karine Picot-Coupey are involved.

Kiel University is one of IGR-IAE’s historical university partners, with a partnership dating back to 1997. Prof. Patrick Valeau – Vice-Dean for Research and Deputy Director of the Centre of Research
in Economics and Management CREM CNRS 6211 – and Prof. Karine Picot-Coupey – Vice-Dean for International Affairs – are pleased to host this 2022 edition which is a unique opportunity for doctoral students to present their work and benefit from advice.
