My research activities, mostly on an empirical basis, focus on corporate governance in general and banks in particular and its impact on their capital structure, risk-taking and performance. My work contributes to the discussions of managers, economists and regulators regarding the role played by the various governance mechanisms, especially after the 2007-2008 financial crisis.
