2022-2023 AMS-AFM common research proposals grant

Prof. Karine Picot-Coupey, along with her co-authors, Dr. Shuang Wu, and Dr. Nina Krey, both assistant professors at Rowan University in Glassboro, NJ, USA, recently won the acclaimed Common Research Grant awarded every year by the AMS-AFM organization, thus acknowledging the research work of international teams.

The purpose of Professors Picot-Coupey, Krey and Wu’s research is to reassess personal shopping value (PSV) within the value and retail literature considering the changing nature of retail contexts and corresponding consumer behavior. In addition, the research aims to compare cultural influences in determining the importance of value across different shopping environments.

Their project will not only contribute to the academic debate about value in multiple shopping contexts, but also enrich it with a cross-cultural perspective and will help brick and mortar retailers to reboot their physical stores consistent with their online and mobile presences and digital-first players to open their own physical stores to better address consumers’ new consumption expectations and experiences in the US, France, and China.

This recognition from AMS and AFM, which are major international scholar organizations will greatly support our professors who will benefit from the associations’ audience and enhance their academic networks.

It will also strengthen the links already existing within this international research team, one example being that Nina Krey is a long-time visiting professor, visiting IGR-IAE each year for several years now.
