Students from English-taught Master IHRM on a historical tour of Rennes

The 20 students of the Master 2 in International Human Resources Project Management participated in a field trip organized by Rennes Tourist Office. This was one of the activities included in the integration seminar organized by Mrs. Susan Bardsley. The tour included a Visit of Rennes’ historical center and the Parliament of Brittany.

The goal was to live an experience as a group at the beginning of the year while discovering in more details the city of Rennes and its heritage, in particular the discovery of the various Breton and French symbols represented on the buildings.

This gave them a better understanding of their environment and the historical roots of Rennes in Brittany and its connection to France. Says Susanna Bardsley: “Understanding the symbols of a culture is to understand the people who live there. Beyond the teambuilding idea of this outing, there is also the attempt to create a bond between the international students and their new city where they will live for the upcoming year.”

This outing also allowed us to talk to them about historical places but also about the must-see places like the Lices market and the Breton specialties that some of them do not know yet.
