Preparations

When you have been accepted by our School as a Master or exchange student, you should begin preparing for your stay in France:

  1. If you need a visa, apply for it at the nearest French embassy or consulate as soon as you have received the letter of admission.

  2. Make your travel arrangements. Make sure you arrive at least one or two days before the beginning of courses. If you have been assigned accommodation through the University of Rennes 1, it is strongly advised to check-into your room from Monday to Friday preferably before 5:00PM in order to ensure that all administrative formalities are settled. If you plan to arrive at the weekend of after 5:00PM on a weekday, then it is advisable that you request the help of a student guide to help you stelle in (your host coordinator will send you the request form by email).

  3. Inform your host coordinator (Master programs: igr.international-degree@univ-rennes.fr / Exchange programs: igr-international-incoming@univ-rennes1.fr) of the date of your arrival.

  4. Arrange your health insurance and insurance against loss and damage before you leave your home country. European Union citizens should get the European Health Insurance Card from their national social security authority.

  5. For exchange students only: make sure your Learning Agreement is signed by the coordinators at your home university and remember to bring it with you to IGR-IAE.
